The group TOMBOLA consists of four artists based in Göteborg, Sweden. The members are Anna Carlsson, Lena Danielsson Wulcan, Gunilla Hansson and Pia König. Aside from their individual artistic practice, they create art events and projects. The group started in the year 2000 as a result of collaborative work in Galleri 54, an artistrun space in Göteborg.
Tombolas last project was Reflektioner – an outdoor performance with reflecting materials in four acts during 13 Festivalen in Göteborg in January. During the autumn 2015 Tombola took the role as a task force in the projectroom Bageriet (the Bakery), where they restored the facade of the building.
In previous exhibitions Tombola has created randomly changing paintings with soapbubblemachines and aircurrents in unpredictable ways. For five years they have created the appreciated Tombola Parksalong- an outdoor event with 25-30 participating artists in Azaleadalen in Slottsskogen, Göteborg.
TOMBOLA will work with the exhibition Vinklar during their residency at Nordiska Gästateljén which will take place at hangmenProjects during march 2016. The exhibition shows three artists /artistsgroups who will work sitespecifically with the galleryspace. The participating artists are TOMBOLA, Cecilia Darle and Jan Matsson.
