Artists Miyuki Inoue (JP/NL) and Marcel Smit (NL) are invited by artist Anna Kinbom and Performance Center-PC to work on a performance together. The performance will be presented at Supermarket Art Fair in Stockholm, happening October 14-17, 2021. The artists will have a public talk about their work at the Nordic Guest Studio, Malongen on October 26.
Inoue and Kinbom will make a collaborative performance with a point of departure in Inoue's work "Human Cicada" and Kinbom's "Karaoke Lecture"-piece. They are both interested in various ways of using the voice in different spaces. Marcel Smit will join by working with creative coding for electronics that will be used in the performance.
Performance Center-PC is a concept for hosting performance within contemporary art, formed by Anna Kinbom and Vilda Kvist in 2018, and this is PC's first residency.
Miyuki Inoue has a working grant from Mondriaan Fund and is also supported by Ogasawara Toshiaki Memorial Foundation.
