We welcome Liina Magnea to the Nordic guest studio where she will work with the project Territory in collaboration with Evelina Jakobsson Potenciano, Astrid Kajsa Nylander and Sophie Vitelli.
Berlin-based choreographer, performer and musical composer Liina Magnea (ISL/FI) combines music, movement, film dramaturgy, and internet culture into immersive performances. Utilizing her 'post-brutal' concept, she explores the aftermath of mental and physical harshness. She works with character-driven choreography, merging archetypes to shapeshifting dances. Her work has been shown at Volksbühne, Zodiak Helsinki, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, and Sophiensaele, among others.
During a month, Liina Magnea will collaborate with choreographer and performer Evelina Jakobsson Potenciano and visual artist Astrid Kajsa Nylander in the development of the new performance Territory. Composer Sophie Vitelli will develop material for live modular synthesis.Territory addresses the normalization of war and militarism in media as well as political realities across Europe. Physicality, formation, discipline, and mute gestures forms a junction between dancer and soldier, drawing parallels to how contemporary soldiers stage themselves in front of online followers, and the use of voice as a means of control within military leadership. Territory is a sequel to material about the contradictory lives of soldiers, romanticized self sacrifice and the fear of mortality that Magnea and Potenciano collaborated on during a residency at Sophiensäle in Berlin.
Liina Magnea performs at Stockholm International Poetry Festival 2025, Nov 26th, at Konstakademien >>Tickets<<

Evelina Jakobsson Potenciano works with contemporary dance and choreography to transform situations, expressions and references into choreographic scenes. In her work, choreography is used to stage situations and images from the collective memories of pop culture through a sensory approach to horror films, internet culture and other subcultures. Jakobsson Potenciano is part of the acting group Autodramatik, which recently premiered the play Dimes Square Stockholm. She has shown at Site, Tårnby Park and KONTRÄR.
Astrid Kajsa Nylander lives and works between Stockholm and Gotland, Sweden. Nylander’s practice includes performance and installation in works that can be described as readings of painting in an expanded field. Her painting series minijobs was exhibited at PAGE (NYC) in New York and is part of the Moderna Museet collection. Together with Helena Lund Ek, she runs Painting Practice — a forum for painting with artist talks, exhibitions, readings and workshops.
Sophie Vitelli (SE/IT) is a Stockholm-based composer and sound designer. Since 2018, she has primarily worked in the fields of dance and performance. Vitelli’s approach is informed by a background in film, anthropology, and classical guitar. Working mainly with modular synthesis and guitar, she explores the spectral qualities and resonance of chords and patterns, guided by their potential synaesthetic and dramaturgical effects, often in minimalist structures. Sophie Vitelli is half of the artistic duo PHANTA, with Frida Giulia Franceschini.
