OPEN CALL FOR ARTIST RESIDENCIES 2027 - 2028 for artists, curators or art institutions/spaces to invite and host a guest for a one-month residency at NKF's guest studio.

APPLICATION FORM FOR ARTIST RESIDENCIES 2027-2028

Who can apply?

The residency is based on a host–guest principle. Artists, curators, art institutions, and art spaces based in Stockholm or the Stockholm region may apply to host a guest or collaborator for a one-month residency, either at a research stage or coinciding with a public presentation or exhibition production.

Guests may work across all art forms and practices, and at any stage of their careers. Partners and  families are welcome to join the guest in the studio.

For 2027, nine residency slots are available. For 2028,  five residency slots are available.
Each spanning approximately four weeks.

Shorter stays are also possible – please indicate this in your application.

NKF cannot currently offer funded residencies, but we are happy to provide invitation letters for external funding applications.

Location: NKF’s Guest Studio, Nytorget 15, Stockholm, Sweden

Application deadline: 15 September 2026 (applications received after this date will not be considered)

Duration: Four weeks (shorter stays possible)

Residency fee: SEK 2000 for artists/curators, SEK 6000 for institutions. A sliding scale may apply for smaller institutions with little or no funding.

Important: Applications without a host cannot be considered. As a nonprofit organization, NKF requires applicants to have a host who can provide support during the residency.

Thank you for your application – we look forward to receiving your proposal and will respond no later than mid-October 2026.

Please fill in the form and contact info@nkf.se with any further inquiries. For more information on residency guidelines, please visit the page about our residency.
